I’m really psyched about this week’s show,The Commodification of Punk. It’s a subject near and dear to me,because this is the music I grew up with and it basically saved my ass in a time of serious isolation. It’s one thing to grow up hanging out at CBGB or Mabuhay or 924 Gilman…and quite another trying to find Dead Kennedys albums in rural Utah (pre-Napster/Amazon et al.,even) ! It was well worth it,though,to be able to tune out the drones and crank up Richard Hung Himself or Stealing People’s Mail. We’re finally nailing down the guests,and they are going to be fantastic. Put a safety pin through your nose,deface a Wal-Mart sign and tune in!
